Environmental Education: sowing awareness to conserve
At the King Penguin Nature Reserve, we believe that education is a profound way to protect.
That is why environmental education is one of our pillars: it allows us to share knowledge, raise awareness, inspire, and foster commitment to the territory, its species, and its history.
Eco Aula: an Initiative with heart
In 2014, our founder, Cecilia Durán, created Eco Aula, a project that began with school gatherings on the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego and now reaches hundreds of people from different regions of Chile and Argentina.
More than 1,200 people have taken part in this educational experience: children, young people, and adults who have participated in talks, workshops, or meaningful visits to the Reserve.

On-site guided visits
Led by our team, allowing participants to experience conservation, research, and responsible tourism first-hand.

Held at schools, secondary schools, universities, community centers, and public institutions.

Educational collaborations
We participate in initiatives such as Chilean Wildlife Day and activities with the Agrupación Ecológica Patagónica.

Community competitions
Between 2013 and 2017, we organized the Porvenir Anniversary Photography Competition to showcase the richness of the territory through the eyes of the community.

Training for tourism service providers
Sessions focused on conservation values, local history, and environmental education.
